I have been running the Mickey Thompson sportsman pros 29x12.50x15 the last couple of years without tubes.
I've been trying to find something that has basically the same measurements as the sportsmans and hopefully something that will grab better on the street.
With the 512 motor thats in the car, the sportsman pro's really serve no purpose, no traction at all in 1st, pull second still in a blaze, pull third and they finally grab. Don't get me wrong I love the feel and the show just looking for something different.
Car is mini tubbed and I have a 15x10" rim with a 7 1/2" backspacing.
I was looking at these http://www.jegs.com/i/Mickey-Thompson/672/3762/10002/-1?parentProductId=746356
Wondering IF anyone has used these, likes dislikes ETC. Were you able to mount them without tubes? Other suggestions...
Thanks,
Jeff

The Sportsmans Pros don't have the soft compounds that the E.T.Streets or the Drag Radials do. They work the best that very small time between there being no tread showing and having the cords show. The E.T. Streets hook well, but being bias ply don't handle as well as the radials. The Drag Radials hook well and handle the best of all three. As to tubeless, I soak the inside of the sidewalls liberally with Dawn dish soap, and it seems to seal the sidewalls enough to not need tubes. It is not necessary to seal the inside of the tread area. While the E.T.'s or radials still may not "dead hook" the car they both should be much better than the Sportsmans.

I switched from a set of 325-50-15 Hoosier quick Times, (the threaded version) to a set of 275-60-15 M/T drag radials and not only did it ride a ton better it hooked better as well.
