Should I have any problems mounting an OD tail housing on the earlier 69 RR 4spd trans.

I need the later T-housing to fit correctly in my 71 RR so the insulator mounting pad is correctly located with the 71 trans mount.

Someone had told me once that there was a design change somewhere in 69 and it may not work?

Yes the truck/van tail will swap as long as you swap bearings also.
