Hi,

The radio stopped working in my '08 Charger. It is totally dead, with no sign of power. I checked the 20 amp fuse in the rear fuse box and it is fine. Just the radio stopped working, nothing else. Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be?

Thanks

The radios are junk. I have had 2 in a van, 3 in my Dakota, 3 in moms stratus. I usually buy dealer take outs for 100-125 bucks but I have a hook up at a dealer

Try unhooking battery and letting it sit for a few minutes. It has worked on a few,and it does not cost anything.

IOD stands for Ignition off draw. Its in the PDC in the trunk. It has a black or white housing and is a 60 amp fuse inside of the cartrage. Look on the lid of the PDC if your unsure where it is. When the cars are shipped new this fuse is in the up position to keep the battery from going dead. Alot of times just removing this fuse and reinstalling will correct your concern due to the fuse not properly seated all the way.

Front Power Distribution Center Fuses

A power distribution center is located in the engine compartment. This center contains fuses and relays.

CAUTION: When installing the Power Distribution Center cover, it is important to ensure the cover is properly positioned and fully latched. Failure to do so may allow water to get into the Power Distribution Center, and possibly result in an electrical system failure.
When replacing a blown fuse, it is important to use only a fuse having the correct amperage rating. The use of a fuse with a rating other than indicated may result in a dangerous electrical system overload. If a properly rated fuse continues to blow, it indicates a problem in the circuit that must be corrected.

Rear Power Distribution Center Fuses

There is also a power distribution center located in the trunk under the spare tire access panel.

Cavity 1 of the Rear Power Distribution Center contains a black IOD fuse needed for vehicle processing during assembly. The service replacement part is a 60 Amp yellow cartridge fuse.
