Has anyone ever built or seen a suicide front end using a 40's Chevy front axle that had leaf springs. I'm building a /6 powered rat rod pick up with my son and we are going to use a 42 chevy front axle we have with elliptic springs and a radius rod set up. Most use a ford axle with a buggy spring. I know it will work but don't want to have to reengineer it if someone has already seen or done one. Any pictures or info would be helpful. We are building a 2x4 tubing frame and with a Farmall grill, chevy cab and a /6 with a 4speed overdrive.

You need to contact Lahr's Speed and Custom, in Ky. He makes radius rod brackets that bolt to early Ford and Chevy axles that were double parallel leaf originally. I bought through him a ways back, I don't have a pic.
