I dont see much, if any, information on the Hughes website about which valve springs the hughes whiplash cam needs. I am considering this camshaft for my 67 383 with 30 over pistons (.034 in the hole) and 516 heads with stock 2.08/1.60 valves with a fresh valve job and hardened seats.

Anybody know what spring they call for? Is it a drop in spring using the factory keepers and locks?

Sorry, first time playin with big block mopar.

I havent got an intake yet, but I am considering an edelbrock performer RPM or weiand 8008.

Dan

(yea gonna ditch the purpleshaft I had in it)

I emailed Hughes this same question before buying the Whiplash for my 383. The response I got from them was #5001 lifters and #1106 springs. Not sure about the retainers and keepers. As it's designed to be a drop in cam, I would think they would have let me know if other parts were needed.
I ended up buying this setup to replace the 484 cam in it now, but it hasn't arrived yet.

Call and ask.
I'm guessing the 1105 spring and matching retainer?
