Am ready to fit new Carpet in '67 Plymouth GTX-
didn't take pics B4 ripping out old carpet a
dozen yrs ago,and don't remember whether or not
throttle linkage was bolted thru Carpet,or Carpet
was trimmed around throttle mount where it passes
thru the Firewall..

Trim the carpet around the bracket and bellcrank. Bracket bolts directly to body. A couple of slits in the carpet and removing only what might hang up the throttle is all you need to do. Base of gas pedal should be at the inner forward corner of the heel pad, which requires a rectangular hole so the bottom of the pedal mounts solidly & squarely to the floor. I locate the carpet using the pedal first, making sure of course that it fits everywhere else before making any cuts. Then I'll move on to the center seatbelt locations; once they're in, the carpet can't scoot around on the floor while you do the rest of the cuts & trimming.
