i have a 78 slant 6 with a 1 barrel carb, whats a good gap to run on the plugs? .035?

Yes. The .035 seems to be the standard gap for most Mopar applications. If nothing else, its a good place to start.

What he said, the std 35 to start & might exp w 25 and 40 & Jacobs ign states in their ign bible that an eng can make more power w a slightly less gap which surprised me as I thought a larger gap would have more air/fuel molecules in there which'd give a better chance of it igniting plus a larger spark kernel for a faster burn so less timing needed for less negative energy loss b 4 TDC. Wouldn't b a deal breaker though. 35 is fine. Might esp w decreasing the rotor tip to cap clearance w solder (plus taper it to 1/2 the orig width) and for sure dial in each dist subsystem IN ORDER esp as /6's need all the power you can build
