Has anyone had problems with theirs? My truck has 82k and it sounds like the bearings or the armature is going out of my alternator. It makes a grinding sound. At first I tried changing the idler and tension pulleys since the bearings seemed worn(and it was cheaper to replace), but it still grinds. The alternator still charges, but I can't stand that noise anymore. At any rate, is there a way to tell what amp the alternator is? Thanks

I have seen the bearings fail with as little as 50k on them and have seen them go 300k and still be good. The alternator should be a Bosch rated at 136a. Remove the alt. and take it to a local auto electrical shop(alternator & starter shop)and have them replace the bearings.I usually charge 50.00 to replace the bearings.Hope this helps Jason
