I have an 89 caravan 2.5 four cylinder and it runs bad even after new cap rotor plugs and plug wires and timing set. Someone told me it might be the throttle position sensor. I do not no a whole lot about fuel injection. There is no engine light on and I unplugged the sensor and it runs exactly the same. Sometimes high idle sometimes low, when I step on the gas it stumbles so I have to feather the pedal to get going. Any ideas would be appreciated. 269charger

I don't no about codes. How do I tell if it has codes. I guess I figured since the check engine light is not on I'm OK. But I probably wrong.

Usually if hard codes the check engine light will be on.Have a place like Advanced check codes as they do it free.If no codes you might have to have a shop actually scan it and see what the sensors are doing.Just guessing gets costly.Those also had bad injectors.It also could be a bad oxygen sensor.TPS usually creates a stumble and or high or low idle.Rocky

I thought my 2.5 had a oxygen sensor when doing very similar to what you describe, ended up Map sensor changed it fixed.

turn key on-off-on-off-on then check eng light/service eng soon lamp will flash-when it flashes count-when 1 flash that is 1st number of code-followed by series of quick flashes-example 1 flash then pause then 2 quick flashes= code 12 test ends with 5 flashes twice for code 55-it may take you a couple of times to get it down pat

I did it! on-off on-off on with key and it flashed once and then two quick flashes then one flash and then five quick flashes then five quick flashes and then five more quick flashes. So I'm thinking it's fault code 15. Any ideas what code 15 is? Thanks 269charger

throttle body temp code-computer senses temp and adjusts accordingly-
alldata says to check pin/connections for corrosion,pushout,broken wires.if you look at tbi on lower rt corner should be 2 prong plug in
that goes up into tbi-also the wiring that goes between valve cover and tbi is prone to heating up and melting-especially idle air control 4 prong plug in.
