does it really matter for a pure stock, 4 barrell 318? I am thinking NGK...

How about wires? Good NAPA replacement? Same for CAP and ROTOR?

Would throwing a MSD blaster 2 coil make any difference? Or would it hurt it?

I am working the spring bugs out, and thought a slight tune up would be in order. After all, the outside plugs look rusty...I have no idea how old they are.

Champion plugs, NAPA tuneup components will be fine, keep your stock coil

Autolite sparkplugs. They're worth six extra horsepower.

Champion RN14YC. More than likely came with N14Y OEM. No problems with Champions. Been running them for ever and that is OEM equipment for Mopar.

I used to work at tune up shops, and a number of them offered fuel induction cleaning. Rather than get the engines hot then change plugs, we would tune the car then run the stuff through. I also changed a LOT of plugs and saw new defects and how the old ones held up more than most people.

I prefer Autolite, had too many problems with Champion. NGKs are darn good plugs too.
Bosch platinum if you are going to leave them in for 80K (I don't recommend it on older stuff, but people do it.)

Me too but I'd say any plug on sale would work fine in a DD 318

Uneven gaps from the factory (shoddy QA), easier to foul than other brands in the same situations, and I've had exactly 2 brands of plugs where the porcelain has been broken around the center electrode, sliding down when the plug was held spark end down, sliding back up to normal with wire end down. I've seen 6 plugs brand new broken this way, 2 tune-up masters (made in Eastern Europe) and 4 Champions (at 3 different times). You can say it was due to rough handling or packaging, but I have not seen it on any other plugs. The porcelain also tends break easier when removing.
