Another 69 GTX question that pertains to all period B-bodies & probably all late 60's Mopars. My car has the R31 rear speaker code & I just found a NOS speaker to install. I presume it fits above the sheet metal package shelf rather than below it (but of course under the cardboard tray). Also was it fastened by sheet metal screws or machine screws w/ nuts? Anybody have a picture? Thanks

I THINK the 1970 B Body is the same... they mount from the trunk. I bought a kit for my 70 - it came with the screws/nuts...which I assume was the same as the assembly line. Attached is a picture of a 1970 Coronet R/T with the original speaker. I don't have a good picture of the screws. Hope this helps - Dave

Thanks for the photo. Was hoping it could be installed without pulling out the seat back, etc., but even though the speaker mounts from underneath, that doesn't appear to be possible.
