I am thinking about buying a set of ported 360-2 heads and intake for a 420 small block that I plan on building this fall. Right now I am running a 360/380 hp crate motor in my D-50.Do you think these heads would work very well if I put them on my crate motor while I was collecting the parts for the other motor. It would be hard to let the heads just set in the closet for a few months.

have a look at the current c.r. and the one it would yield with the -2 heads
Don't forget you would need the matching intake and valve train

Tough to say, on a race only deal where bottom end doesn't matter too much it might not be too bad. I've thought about trying it as well but never have.

They're a great cylinder head but the 210 port might work better depending on your plans...

Hi D-50. Looks like a fun truck. I run Indy 360-1s on my car, they are not a quick bolt on for your truck. Different exhaust port, Rocker oiling, push rods, etc. I think you would be better off to wait and put them on your big motor. The Indys do make power but you have to check everything, and don't believe the book specs. Also I would never ever ever ever buy another kit from Indy, heads and intake only. Have fun with it.
