Getting close to finishing up my Super low buck 318! Got the heads, intake cam and covers on. Just need finish up fuel lines, and hoses. Then put the radiator back in and then done.

Anyways what do you guys think this combo will do, 1/4 mile?
The engine is a .030 over 318
hypereutectic flatop pistons, compression comes out to 8.9 to 1
1.88 1.60 916 j heads with a good valve job
Engle cam 260 adv int &ext 216 at .050 in & exst .456 lift 113 lc installed on a 108 ic.
360 intake milled divider and smoothed plenum
750 holley vacuum secondary
1 5/8 headers. 2.5" exhaust
125 nitrous shot
Stock 904 and hi stall factory converter stalled around 2200 rpm
3.55 SG 8 3/4
26" tall drag radials
I have less than $200 into this engine, most of the parts are peices that have been given to me or, traded for. Not worried about blowing it up since the 360 will be going into it in a couple months

The car is a 69 barracuda 3400lbs

Came with my barracuda, thought it was just a core motor until I pulled it apart and found it looks like a very low mile motor with good parts. Just had a cam with a flat lobe, and endplay is just a little out of spec. Heads, intake, and some other parts came in the back of truck I got for free. The new cam & lifters came from the rebuilt 360 I am planning to put in the car later on. I was given the carb and rebuild kit. 2 gasket sets came with the 360 and was able to use most of them on the 360. I did the valve job at work.

The carb seems a little big for the cam, cubes and stall. I'd try a swapmeet 600 Holley since they're cheap to find. Switch back to the 750 when you do track time with the nitrous.

Do you have the valvesprings to compliment the cam?

Is that a calculated compression? How much is the piston in the hole?

buddy ran 13.80 w/ a similar set-up in a 70 dart. with no NOS. So I guess with the 125 shot on a full pass you'd be around 12.80. And the carb will be fine.

Im not too worried about the carb, the engine wont really be in too long. when I put the 360 in I will probably give the 318 to my son, for a project when he is ready to drive. The 750 will go on the 360.

The valve springs are comp 901s
The compression is calculated
piston sits around .017 in the hole
gasket is 4.1 bore and is thin compresses to .038
releifs in piston 4cc
heads measure out to 70cc

He must shop where Horsepower TV does. Remember the 360 c/w Eddy heads, intake, roller cam, Holley and headers for what $475.00. They put it together without even changing the rings.

750 Holley 3310 is perfect for that motor IMO.

With a very similar combo I was running 14's @ 95 mph with no traction and 3.23 gears.

My compression was lower and the car weighed 3,400.

Mine was low budget as well.

A very fun motor that I wish I still had!

I hope its fairly quick, but not really worried about it, I will be glad to drive it again after sitting for 8 months!!!! After driving my jeep, or my 2.3 ranger, im sure it will feel fast even if it runs 16s!!!!!!

Got the car fired up and cam broken in, sounds pretty good. Cam sounds small, but the car has a ton of throttle response. I cant wait to drive it! Just need to finish the brakes up, and hang the tail pipes.
