I have 727 trany. Im trying to get the NSS to work for the starter ground and the back up lights. Tell me if I'm wrong, but the two outside pins are the back up lights, 12 volts in and out, and the inside pin is the ground for the starter relay ground? I've checked the hot wire to the switch and have 12 volts. I've checked the center pin and have no ground out when in park, and nothing between the two outside pins in reverse. Bad switch?

You are correct...Center is NSS and two outside terminals are back-up..But you have it backwards at the other end of the switch...Plastic plunger operates the NSS and the pin activates the back-up lights..I'd make sure the shifter linkage is properly adjusted first thing...

sorry but this is incorrect the center metal pin on the inside is what grounds to the VB creating the ground that runs to the starter sol.

The metal center pin serves both functions, it drops into a "divot" in the plastic shoe to activate the BU lights and in Neutral and Park it makes contact with the exposed metal base in the shoe to ground the starter relay.

The only reason the plastic plunger is spring-loaded is to keep it in contact with the plastic shoe.

Thanks for the detailed operation of the switch and pic. Makes sense when you know the details. Jim
