Quote:
I have a 1973 340 with a cast crankshaft that is externally balanced and I have a neutral balanced torque converter.
I have been told that B&M and TCI sell flexplates to use an externally balanced engine with a neutral balanced torque converter. The bolt pattern on the torque converter I have is 10" diagonally.
Does anyone know what part numbers do I need?
Note: I also know that cast crank 340s and 360s were balanced differently although they were both externally balanced. As a result the torque converters are not interchangable, nor are the "adapter" flexplates.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks a Lot!
Contact John Cope at Cope Racing Trans and talk to him. He set me up without any issues at all. He's a member on here as well.... his work and knowledge is recommended on here many times over.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BMM-10235/this is the flexplate for an external balanced 73 340 with a 727....... a neutral balanced converter can be used with any externally balanced engine as long as the CORRECT flexplate is used.... and yes...the 340 and 360 are externally balanced differently...the 340 required more weight on the converter or flexplate
