i bought a 360 4bbl/727 drivetrain out of an 85 2wd ramcharger to swap into my 1981 new yorker that has a 360 4bbl with a 904 trans.

the 360 i bought already has the right manifolds and oil pan for my car but im wondering what ill run into as far as the trans is concerned, are the 727 and 904 the same overall lenght? what about my kickdown and shift linkage.. will they all bolt on?

727 is about 4 inches longer...drive shaft will need to be shorten..

also you might want to check on size of u-joints...the 904 generally use the smaller 7260 joint where as the 727 could use either one..

Also if it's column shift you'll need shift linkage also since the bellhousing area maybe different.

You will also need a front drive shaft yoke for a 727
