Where is the best place to buy new pistons, rings, bearings, etc., to rebuild a 62 413 motor?

Don't know if it's the best place, but you might try Kanter at kanter.com. Phone 973-334-9575.They list rebuild kits for 413's. Never bought anything from them, just have one of their catalogs.

Most everything is still available except some good pistons. I have got my feelers out on getting some better higher performance compression-distance pieces made ... more in the lines of a 6 pack piston.

I ordered some yesterday off of Summit, Sealed Power 238P, They have a 2.000 Compression Height, but came to 9.85:1 compression with my 516 closed chamber heads. I measured the heads and came up with 69 cc's, and Summit has a compression calculator that works really well. What year of 413?

It's a 62 motor in a 62 300 convertible,

If the heads are factory, they should be closed chamber 516 heads, and the Sealed Power 238P Pistons should work. I didn't have any luck through anyone but Summit, and the .040 over Pistons I ordered are not shipping out until 4/26. Good luck! Here is a link

Compression calculator is on this link. Pistons are .085 deck clearance with the 2.000 compression height, have your heads cc'd and you're on your way.

Lumpy, Do your 516 have cast in rocker stands, or the aluminum stands that are on the rocker shafts?
