Hey guys I have been getting my project closer and closer everyday to firing up my car for the first time. Some of ya'll know what that means, ready to smell the fresh smoke and whatever else that will get burned off and most of all the sound of open headers snorting out the grunt of a 410 stroker. Yea man that sounded great.
When I shifted into D, I had nothing, non of the gears had anything. Fluid level is good. This is a fresh rebuild 904 with raybestos alto red stage 1 clutches kolene steel plates, transtec kevlar race flex band, stage 1 B&M shift kit/reprogrammed valve body, 11 inch 2400/2800 stall, all new seals, friction rings etc.
Any idea why I have nothing happening? Thanks

front pump, had one break the tang's on the gear, this was during use tho.
forward clutch is not engaging and this could be caused by low or lack of pressure and that can be caused by the valve body, front pump, and internal pressure leak, just to name a few,
when you first put fluid in the tranny then started it up did the fluid level drop as if the converter was filling up and lowering the amount in the pan? Also did you do a air check on the systm to ensure the seals are ok, one could of rolled or pinched during installation,,just some thought's

just had a new 904 break the ears off the pump...results being no gears available..

or are you sure the converter engaged the pump.,,,torqueflites are a PIA sometimes...

went you had the 904 done..could you turn the input shaft and the output shaft turn?

that makes sure nothing is binding inside the trans.

When the transmission is first filled with fluid, the fluid level will usually be way high until the converter fills. If the fluid level "is good" the pump must have been turning.

If the fluid level rises after sitting awhile (converter drainback) and lowers after running the pump is turning.
