Stupid ? but can the small lug on the starter relay be used for the 12 volt switched source? Thanks

You cant use the yellow wire. Once running the circuit would be fed from the run side keeping the relay engaged.

i had to delete my first post and walk out and look. my constant power source is off the bat side of the relay. the 'switched' power i have running of the coil feed.

For a switched source for the MSD simply eliminate the ballast resister and splice the wires on both sides of it together and use the original coil (+) wire as the switched source.

Or you can leave the ballast in position and use the coil (+) wire as a switched source; the MSD doesn't care about the voltage in the switched wire, it merely turns the unit on/off.
