SGTFURY62 OP top fuel Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,954 Illinois	I just picked up a 71 gtx project that came with what is supposed to be it's warranty engine. Block is cast in 72 and has no serial numbers or date letter on pad. Question is should I paint engine 71 orange or is it correct to leave 72 replacement blue?

Tried that with my Demon that was ordered buy the lead mechanic in 71 they said all there records get tossed after 10 years and the oldest mechanic they had started in 79 and doesn't remember anything.. worth a shot you never know.

Just had buddy/fellow member logan426 stop over and was telling about engine and what do you know...block and heads are bare metal! Only the bolt on pieces are painted. Engine block was cast 2-28-72 also seen. Learn something new everyday. Thanks for the input.
