Can someone provide the measurement/location for the 4 spd reverse light that mounts on the dash? I have the dash taken apart and would like to drill for it before I refinish the the dash.

Thanks, Joe

Just FYI, make sure your measurements come from a 70-71 car. On those cars the reverse light is positioned in such a way so as to leave room for the optional seat belt light.

72-74 cars have the seat belt light standard up by the instrument cluster, and because of this the reverse light on those cars is located in a slightly different spot.

You'd probably never notice just looking at it, but if you measure, there is definitely a difference.

P.S. I'm looking for the diameter of the firewall hole for this same light. I know where the hole goes, just looking for its diameter. 1970 only please. 71 uses a different size grommet.

Thanks for the input. The car is a 70 so that is good to know. I wasn't even thinking about the firewall hole. Can you provide the measurement/location on that? Hopefully, someone will have the diameter info.

Joe

Hey Colin,

Car is coming along but is pretty slow. I didn't really post anything on the board but I have an infant who has been very sick over the last few months. She stopped eating or drinking several months ago and after many tests the Dr's still don't know why. After a hospital stint, she came home with a feeding tube and we have to feed her through that which is very time consuming. Otherwise, she is healthy and happy and you can't tell anything is wrong with her except she refuses to eat. I'm sure they will find an answer or she will grow out of it but it will be a while.

Lately, I am able to put in a few hrs. of work on the car during the week so it's moving again.

Thanks for the drawing. I have the bottom one in my reference file (forgot about it) but did not have the dash one. I usually search but forgot to this time. Thanks again for the help.

Joe

Hey Colin,

Thanks for the great info! I stashed this one away as well. I too, have a hard time searching the archives as well.

Does this mean Joe owes you $10 bux??

Joe, situations like that are tough to deal with but I'm glad she's pulling through and you find a little time to do something for enjoyment...Best wishes to you and your family... ...and Ray.... ...I guess I'll let the 10 bux slide just this time..... And I like the warning about the boot hitting the ground..That's hilarious !!! ....

So, anyone come up with the diameter of that firewall hole?
