Yep, that sucks. spend 32K on a 2010 challenger 6spd and the car will not burn any rubber. I read that if you have the car in a forward gear hold down the traction controll button until the light goes out that is supposed to disengage the traction controll.
That only raises the limiting point a few hundred RPM. I can pop the clutch in the car wash at 6 thousand and it will not burn rubber. The only way I can beat a dumb mustang is to get him from a roll.

I have a 2010 SRT 8 6 speed Challenger and it will do awesome burn outs! Push the ESP button down and hold. After 3 seconds the stability portion is deactivated and after 8-10 seconds the traction control is deactivated. Happy burn outs to you! PS mine is a trac-pack with 3.92 gears.

That's WHY I bought the 6 speed tracpac car. Complete disabling of the nanny controls.

SRT 8 will burn out. I love those cars but ten grand more WOW. There has to be a way to turn the dumb traction controll off.

I have one of these in my srt300 and my srt caliber....

They can completely turn off the ESP and they enable you to monitor a ton of different functions. I've found them useful.

You dont need an SRT, or buy anything to add to you car to get it to do a good burnout. There is a little trick called the "key trick".

What this means is while going at least 10 mph, turn and hold the key like you are trying to start the car. Dont worry, the starter wont engage. Hold the key until you see the esp light and the bas light come on, then release the key. This completely disables the traction control and the auto braking system. It only works until you turn off the car, then everything resets.

After you do this, burn away!

Thanks I will try it this morning and let you know if it works. If it does there is a guy down the street with an 08 mustang that I have been avoiding until I can get this figured out.

I do this same trick with my 2010 quite often. And it doesnt take revvin it up to 6k to get them spinning either.

Well the trick works once then you have to turn it off again to continue to have fun but now the engine light is on. I am getting bummed out.

when I hold the key button the car goes dead, then I have to push the button again for the power to come back on. I give up!! I will resort to my big block dart to have fun and the challenger to take the wife to dinner.
