Hi guys, wondering if anyone here has experience with a truetrack (gear type) limited slip.....
will be installing S60 into my car, but wondering if I should go with std clutch type or upgrade to truetrac?
I REALLY like to slide my cuda around corners, but am wondering if the trutrac would make that a lot harder to do??
Thanks for any input!!

Driver inputs & the overall balance/grip of the car will probably have more to do with how much slipping and sliding takes place than the type of limited slip used. IMO no limited slip can fully control a high torque engine with any true street tire. I've got a pretty small & ordinary engine and getting the power down on corner exit is still a balancing act on low to medium speed corners. FWIW I am using a plate type Sure Grip with really good lock up, 3:55 gears and 245x45x17 Kumho SPT's.

I agree. Hanging-tail as we used to call-it, has more to do with the driver's right foot than any other factor, assuming the car HAS a limited slip, and enough grunt to overpower the tires.

maybe i should rephrase...
how much different does the gear type act around a corner?
I've been reading that the gear type acts more like an open rear while going around a corner vs clutch type, if so, how noticeable is it?

What they are telling you is under normal driving the axles are able to rotate at different speeds without forcing a clutch to slip so it acts like an open axle... but under power it will hang the tail just fine...

Any traction locking unit will help you spin both wheels at an equal speed and spin you around smoothly. I ran the gear style and for the most part found it useless. It may work well when bothe wheels are on a good surface.

The type of limited slip used may have some effect on corner entry. If it's really tight it MAY cause some understeer or push. Once you go to power the only thing that matters is how tight & abruptly it locks up. Torsion [ gear type ] limited slips are supposed to be a little smoother in locking up. They also generate quite a bit of heat when abused. For the type of driving you're describing I doubt that the type of limited slip you choose will make any real difference.

If you want to get sideways, I would run a Detroit Locker. At least it's predictable.
