The HVAC controls for my valiant are in pretty bad shape. The plastic case is cracked and melted around one of the terminals, and has some other issues as well. This is a factory A/C car. Does anyone know where to get a replacement? Is a junkyard the only option? I attached a picture to show which style I'm talking about.
Thanks! -Jon

I think you are talking about the plastic control behind the buttons on the front. It is seperate part from the actual buttons you push on the front side . . . this plastic part is the vaccum control and electrical control. I believe this part was used on a bodies, b bodies, c bodies, etc. . . . you need to get the part number and do a search for that - it has been on ebay for long time. Do a search and see if you find the part on the web somewhere . . . Check out these ebay listings . . . as you can see, the unit is mounted behind the actuator buttons - should be same unit as yours . . . http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-Chry...=item1c1a961757http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Airtex-1S...=item2eb38104daCheers Mark

Thanks for the responses everyone, here are a few pictures of mine. As you can see the terminal is broken off on the one side and the case is cracked and slightly melted. Fortunately the wiring problem that caused this, and destroyed the rest of the underdash harness has been fixed.
Any leads on a replacement part are much appreciated! The numbers on it appear to be 3502126B and 2357.

Thanks, -Jon

The vacuum switch itself is still available for a number of applications as an over the counter item at many parts stores. I looked one up recently for a C-body. For example, here's one for a '72 Valiant on Rock Auto: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=933374

Awesome, thank you! I had tried searching my local auto store, but they couldn't figure out what to look up.
Thanks again, -Jon
