I looked through the tech archive & couldn't find any info on this.

Are slant 6's internally/externally balanced (the one's I've looked at look internal) and does that vary from year-to-year, size to size, or?? Looking at putting a 1975 225 on to a 1964 push button, 904 (off a 170) and wondering if there are any balance issues or TC/crank flange fitment issues? Thanks!

crank will need some kind of bushing so that the smaller torque convertor hub will pilot correctly.

So, balance-wise they're all the same?

The TC hub is smaller diameter than the crank flange hole? Well, that's better than the other way around! Do I need to machine something or is that 'purchase-able' item?

Not sure on the balance but I put a 70's 225 on an iirc 64 904 so I think they are all internal. It's best to use that bushing and www.wildcatauto.com used to sell them iirc $20 to your door. If not they'll www.slantsix.org know where to get one

Thank you! I tried that wildcat link & it's not 'valid' anymore. Is that the same place as this one? http://www.wildcatmopars.com/

I sent off an email to see if they had them & if not, it sounds like I better become a member of the slant6 forum!

Quick response from Wildcat! That is the same place & the bushing is $20 & it's on its way. Thanks for the help!

Slants came with forged or cast cranks. All are internal/neutral balance.

All inline six cylinder motors are inherently ballanced. The cranks are balanced without bob weight. As long as all 6 are matched, the piston and/or rod sets can be changed with lighter or heavier sets without having to re-balance the crank.
