I just recently blew up my 318 in my 76 plymouth fury and when i get the funds i will buy a 360 out of billings. My question is what will just swap over? I know the distributor and pumps will but what about the flex plate things of that nature. And the tranny in my car is a 904 will that also transfer over. Thanks in advance.

Bolt in with a different converter if you swap unit for unit including manifolds. if you use the 318 manifolds the exhaust will even work.

In my reply I didn't state the left side bracket because used complete engine as pulled with engine mounts. Other wise the left side engine mount is different, as are the 360 manifolds which then would require different exhaust.

The 360 is externally balanced so a 360 torque converter has a weight welded onto it.You can buy a kit that has the weight and instructions from Mopar Performance or you can buy a flexplate from summitt that will do the trick. Everything else will fit.If the 360 comes out of a truck then you will need a 360 oil pan from a car.A 318 oil pan will not work on a 360.

Change the timing chain if it is not a e-58 engine. Cheap insurance if engine has any high hard mileage.

MSD won't make any more power but they tend to let the engine idle a lot better and if you get the 6AL version they have a built in rev limiter. The MSD works really well when triggered by a stock Mopar electronic distributor.

Instead of a weighted convertor I typically use the ones made for internally balanced engines and use a B&M flexplate with a notch instead of the goofy weights.

Okay Young Gun, you should feel good about yourself that you managed to grenade a 318, not that easy to do!

Follow the advise here, the 318-360 swap is about the easiest swap/upgrade that exists in the world of old mopars.

The passenger side motor mount from the 318 will bolt right back up. The drivers side motor mount will need a few flat washers stacked up under ONE ear to work. Done it a half dozen times...works just fine. If it's a stock engine, buy a rebuilt Dacco torque converter for a 904,360 combo. That will be cheaper than the B&M adapter flex plate. The converter will come with the weights already on it, and should cost around $40. Put a new front seal in also. All the bolt ons on the front of the 318 motor will bolt right back on the 360. Good luck
