i just bought a decently soild 1987 dodge diplomat the other day of $60, yes six zero. i dont have the heart to demo a mopar, so im just going to fix it up and beat it around. its got 52000 miles and was a one owner car. its a 318 and runs great. but would really like to put headers on it and a nice dual exhaust (it cant be a quiet old man car too, just look like one) will a-body or b-body headers fit?

You will likely find that F/J/M body headers fit better.Just a guess on my part though.

The beauty of the bent bar cars is lots of room for headers.
The A body headers will fit no problem.
The offset gas tank can be problematic for the duals.
They can exit right behind the rear wheels.

What you want are Hooker Competition F body (Aspen/Volare) headers. They have thick flanges, and fit in without having to do any modifying to the tubes. The headers in my signature picture of my Fifth Avenue are those exact same headers.

Dual exhaust is also not a problem. The gas tank can be moved over a strap to make room for the driver's side pipe.

search is your friend

here's a thread from 3 days ago, didn't feel like retyping the same response.

for exhaust, if you move the gas tank towards the pass side 1 rib (may have to extend the fuel filler pipe), the 2.5" summit A body kit works real well.

check out www.dippy.org/forum for all things M body.

im actually not even conserned out running the duals all the way out back, just headers h-pipe straight pipe and muflers with turn downs, thats the way my duster, my power ram and my coronet is, and this car will just be my everyday beater, the reason i was asking about the a-body headers and b body is because i have a few sets laying around.
