Recently picked up a set of Crane ductile iron adjustable rockers (small block).
Wondering if it is necessary to "banana groove" the oiling holes in the shafts.
If so, what is the preferred technique to put in the grooves?

There's a rocker arm shop in Washington state that repairs, blueprints and upgrades rocker arms. Someone here probably has their information. They might be good ones to ask.
1970 Plymouth 'Cuda #'s 440-6(block in storage)currently 493" 6 pack, Shaker, 5 speed Passon, 4.10's 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible 408 Magnum EFI with 4 speed automatic overdrive, 3800 stall lock-up converter and 4.30's (closest thing to an automatic 5 speed going)

RHS is the company , doing the grooving for that rocker would not be a bad idea.
i think you mean RAS - Rocker Arm Specialties

Is it really that difficult that I couldn't just feather out the holes with a pencil-tipped grinder? I've got a couple of old shafts I can practice on.

Nacho those are slits across the oiling holes that HP shafts have. Just create your own w a hacksaw blade & deburr the edges that the blade kicks up and as said make the hole a bit wider

that's how I would do it , just don't get to carried away , measure the rocker width and mark the shaft with a marker , I can dig out a shaft and measure how wide the grooves are ...
