71 Cuda 383. The return line runs from back to the sending unit.

My GTX has 3, 1 supply line, 1 return from the filter, and 1 vapor return from the valve cover breather. Randy

Filter? You referring to the vapor seperator?

Yes , but a 383 didn't normally have a vapor separator

Could it be a California ECS car?

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

It shouldn't matter if I throw in a VS, right? Can't hurt?

If you have 3 lines and the car had ECS then you need one if you want to use that line , otherwise cap it off ?

I say if there's a way to hook it up (useable return line) do so. Wix makes at least two, in 5/16 and 3/8, with 1/4" return fitting. All you have to do is be sure the 1/4 fitting is up with either the filter vertically or horizontally

Heck yes use it. You will need a new sending unit in the gas tank that has a return nipple in it and either a original style vapor separator mounted on the fuel pump(my prefence) or a after market like what was mentioned.

I have 2 cars setup this way and have driven them a LOT in extreme conditions and they have performed great. Used to have vapor lock before.

The third line connects to the breather on the engine valve cover and is the vent for the gas tank.

Sounds like someone equipped the car with 440/6 or hemi fuel lines and the car had ECS, which exactly what I did with the original 318 ECS car I showed above, say good by to vapor lock.

33040 Wix or 3340 NAPA is 5/16 fuel, 1/4" return

33041 Wix or 3341 NAPA is 3/8 fuel, 1/4" return

Why would you order one from Summit and pay shipping when every auto part store on the block will have one?
