Hello..

Im intrested to buy a set of steeles for my cuda with original 8 3/4 rear end.

I was thinking 15x7" in front and 15x8 with 4" or 4.5" backspacing in the back of the car.

Do anyone know if there will be any problem for to fit 15x8 with 4.5" backspace wheels on the back of the car??

Will be using 255mm (10") wide tires in back

Maby i should go with 15x7" in the back instead?

thanks,

Nicklas Larsson -Sweden

I have 15X8 with 4.5 backspacing on my Cuda. 275/60R15 BFG TA. Fits great - better than a 7" wheel in my opinion. Gives a 1" gap between the trim ring and wheel center though. Its the only way to run an 8" wheel without relocating the springs inward. Would look weird if you did that anyway.

I also have 15X8 with 4.5 BS and 275/60R15 BFG Drag Radials on a 70 Barracuda.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

I would suggest searching the archives some. Everyone has a slightly different opinion of a "good fit". Fit covers both interference and appearance.

I would not expect there to be any issues with 255/60/15 on the 15X8 4.5BS wheel. A 275/60/15 on the same rim may be a slightly different story, depending on your vehicle ride height and how much suspension compression could occur during extremes of your driving.

Search for "275/60/15" in the Q&A to see an old post of mine where I expressed my opinions of fitment on a 70 Cuda.

My suggestion is to gather various opinions, look at many pictures as possible, and take lots of measurements!

Good luck!
Dave
