I just bought a 73 Cuda with a 440 six pack engine. I'm currently stationed overseas and my dad picked it up for me.

Is there any way to tell from this picture any information about this engine?

Also is there any numbers on the engine that could tell me more about it?

What year and vehicle types did this air cleaner come on?

Thanks for the help.

Welcome to MOPARTS & thanks for serving!!

If steel - the air cleaner was used by the factory on '70-'72 440 3x2bbl cars.

The engine could be from just about anything, 1st start by getting the numbers off the top pad on front of the block.

Also, there is a partial VIN# on '69 & newer passenger car engines.

Passenger side of block above the oil pan.

Thanks man. I'll ask the old man to check it out once it is out of the shop. I asked the previous owner but he said he looked on the side and there were no numbers.

What years are better then others?

Here's chart to get you started on decoding the #'s you find on that top pad.

Depends on what you mean by better , what part ? The block , the entire engine itself ??? Blocks are basically all the same , HP doesn't make a difference when it comes to blocks , just some of theparts that were used , depending on the year , HP vs NON HP .

As said , Thanks for your service .....
