i have a holley 3310 750 vac. sec. carb on a 440, i had noticed a bog when i accelerate, from a dead stop when i wld stomp on the gas i wld have a bog, the bog has gotten worse, i went to crank up my car today, the car wld not crank, upon further investigation, i saw that the pump cam was not advance the accelerator pump level, i can push down on the lever by hand and it squits the steam of gas to carb , however when you operate the carb thottle the cam does not push down the accelerator lever, is this a normal wear item and just needs to be replaced? the carb is used and i do not know the age of the carb,
i think the carb has a little age, i look up a new cam kit from jegs is about 23.00, do i just buy the kit and replace the cam with a new one?

Yes, you'd replace the pump cam with one in the kit...The kit will have different colored cams and should have a graph showing where each one falls in comparison to each other....Start with the same unit as you're taking off and see if that corrects the problem and go from there...

i checked with summit, their kit is Accelerator Pump Cam Kit, Holley, 2300/4150/4160 Carburetors, Kit

it is not listing the 3310 carb, is this the right kit for the 3310?

yes...they are all the same..

make sure your current pump is adjusted correctly before you spend any money

Yes, that cam kit is used for all the holley carbs...2300 is the 2 bbl series{including the 6-bbl set-up}...4150 is the mechanical secondary carbs{double pumpers} and the 4160 is the vacuum secondary carbs{your 3310 included}... ...Here's that acc. pump cam chart right off the holley site...

thanks, i will check it tommorrow before i place the order, i think that the problem is the cam is just worn out due to age, i did check it and it is in the 1st slot, so i do not think there will be anymore adjustment on it,

I run the blue cams on 1 and readjust the pump arm.
Then you can try larger or smaller squirters from there.
Also, take a vacuum reading at idle in gear and use a 2" smaller PV than the lowest reading you have. If you have alot of vaccum, use a 10.5 PV and then you may need a larger squirter (35).

i found a old holley and took the pump cam off it, i think it is the red one, it fixed the off idle bog, however, when i stomp on the gas on take off, it still bogs a little, i guess i will have to play with the squirters and the pv.

thanks for the input

Same here. The 35 discharge nozzle fixed it.
