I have a question about an MSD "Soft Touch" rev control. I bought one used and it has two plug -in chips in the rear, one is for max rpm (7000) and the other is for No. of Cylinders. Question is how do you tell which cylinder chip it has ( there are no markings on it)? Randy

Rattler, check with MSD, The only soft touch modules I seen you have to cut a wire for # of cylinders if not 8. Are your sure it's not a two step?

This is a Soft Touch meant for a MSD 6-T, the No. Cyl. chip is a dark burgundy color and the rpm chip is white. I'll post a couple of pics. Randy

Pretty sure you have an old obsolete unit. The 8738 replaced that unit 15 to 20 years ago.
