Need to move the groove Closer to the water pump.Right now there seems to be a little over an inch between the back of the pulley and the head of the water pump bolts. Are there available choices in "backspace" for w/p pulleys????

From the angle of the belt it looks like it should go on the foward part of the pulley. Is that an optical illusion or not?
What forward part? Pretty sure that is a V-belt

You aren't going to find pulleys in increments from a company , you have a few pulley choices , B/RB , 69 up hemi , B/RB A/C and small block. The B/RB sits real close to the pump. i assume spacing the bottom pulley out is not an option ?
Post up a picture of the pulley it self , do you know the pulley application.
You jarred my old memory, went through a few part bins and look what I found ,,,but it seems to be a larger diameter pulley and might be touching the crank pulley. The back of THIS pulley almost touches the 4 waterpump to housing bolts.

The object of this project is to reduce the amount of spacer required on the crank hub.The new blower hub & timing ring purchased is 1.5 inches, the hub that came off is 3 inches. That would be a total of 3 inches of spacer needed to align the crank drive/blower pulley.I not diggin' that much, puts too much stress on the crank snout.Soooooo,I have the w/p pulley as far back as possible and can reduce the spacer on crank, just need to get a shorter blower snout.Might still return this hub & ring.

yes there's several diff depths of pulleys but 1st eyeball things & see if pressing the "cross" rearward will take care of it (w no interference anywhere after pressing it) & if so support the rear of the shaft as you move the cross further down in your shop press & for reference note your crank/wp pulley ratio as overdriven cools better esp if you add the anti cav plate (easy/cheap/works well) EDIT I'm assuming the crank and alt are in line just need the WP to line up w them
I did not know the "cross" is just pressed on the shaft
The one in the first picture is not the standard B RB pulley , looks somewhat like a smallblock pulley ... or the 69 - 71 hemi ??? ... , could be an old , from your cars era , pulley though . Your second picture is the newer std B/RB pulley, everything from 66 up , 66-68 hemi , used that second pulley.

First, let me thank RapidRobert for being generous enough to offer me a smaller diameter pulley,But I received an angry phone call from my very dear friend Stephen or as FULLMETELJACKET calls him "Special K" Anyway,Steve wanted to know why I didn't just call him in the 1st place he has the pulley I need and will bring it to the LONG ISLAND MOPARS get together tomorrow at Hot Rod Burger King in Bethpage.I will keep ya'll posted w/pic's of course LI MOPARS http://mysite.verizon.net/vzes9hbq/longislandmopars/index.html

Have you thought about machining the engine side of the water pump? I know guys that have run mounting plates on the front of their engines and corrected alignment by machining the water pump.
Yes Ashley. There is .150 to .175 to be found with a quick shave.I will wait untill I obtain a shorter blower snout and ATI crank damper before the milling if need be.Thanks for that suggestion
Now should I just clean the aluminum waterpump,,,,,or should I stick it in the beadblaster cabinet to spruce it up.I need to do the alternator too

If you want more clearance to the wp bolts get some button head allens for it.That what March uses with the underdrive pulley sets.Rocky

I hear ya on that Rob,I was gunna try cleaning it with some aluminum cleaner with a pulley in place to protect the front seal.OH,also, the "star" on my pump is rather thick and has no room to be moved down If I blast it,the pulley will be on and ANY openings would be stuffed & covered with the best duct tape.
