I am getting ready to press on the UCA bushing on my '68 Coronet. I have a set of the the normal UCA bushings and a set of the problem solvers.
The problem solvers have a couple what looks like washers included in the kit. The normal kit does not.
I don't remember the washers when I tore this apart awhile back.
Do I use them and what are they for?
Thnx for the help.
Chuck

The washers slip on to each side of bushings before you slide arm back into frame mount tabs. Should be 8 total for both upper arm kits. If not 8 in kit, then you at least have to put one on each end as shown in your image.

Ok that makes sense. The lip on each washer goes thru the frame mount tabs and the flat rides on the bushing itself.
I wonder why the kit for the normal UCA bushing didn't have the washers?
I do have 8 total. Thnx !!!!!

The flat side of the washers face out on each of the bushings.

Ok after looking at my normal UCA bushings they do have those washers they are attached to the bushing itself.
Do I need to press those washers onto the bushing or just installthem loose with the UCA? They don't just fit onto the bushing looks like they need to be pressed on as well...

The way they are designed, it looks like they should easily push in there with jaws of bench vice, no?

I installed a set in my 68 Charger a couple of years ago. If you are installing them to get a more positive caster. Do not follow the instructions that came with the bushings. I can't remember if it was the front or the rear ones, but one pair is pressed in with the arrow facing the the opposite direction.

Ok I have them installed per Ehrenbergs chart. I figured out that the reason the washers are not installed is so one can see the arrows on the bushing!
THNX ALL!!!

The bushing let you get more positive caster. The factory never meant for them to use radial tire and the bushings attain it.You cant repair what wasnt there to start with.Rocky

In the original poster case, he is actually not using them for thier original intended purpose. For increased postive caster you DO NOT use/follow the instruction in the kit.

You follow these modified instructions....
