Well I cant make up my mind on what to do about a camshaft. I need help making up my mind!!!!!
The car is a 69 barracuda
3.55 gears 26" tall drag radials
904 with coan 2800 stall, but may go 9.5 3500 stall if I dont like the 2800.
The engine is .030 360
9.4 to 1 but can go a little higher with a thinner head gasket if needed.
heads a 587 casting with 2.02 x 1.60 valves, with some portwork, cant find flow # but I do remember it flowed 240cfm at .050 on the intake, not much help ,but all I can remember.
Have m1 single plane intake but might go RPM
750 holley annular discharge boosters
1 5/8 headers and 2.5 exhaust
I was building it to run a comp xe268 but i think I would like to go bigger. I want something that is streetable, but not worried about vacuum, no power anything. Rough idle is good. wouls like to get close to 400hp. The car is not a daily driver, for cruises and strip. i will also be running a 100 shot of nitrous.
Please help me pick a cam so I can sleep at night!!!!

I would stick with the 268 comp cam you already have. It will have great power and won't be too big for your 360. I think that in this case less is more. You can always change it later!

Go to the Comp Cams website and download Cam Quest. It is a free program in which you enter all of your motor variables and then choose different cams and it will give you a dyno chart so you can see how much HP and TQ each cam will give at what RPM. Is is pretty accurate.

Good luck!

Well it looks pretty even so far. I really like the .904 lobe cams, but I dont know if it would be worth the $$ to swap over now.

With 3.55 gear, 750 carb, 3500 stall, a short 26" tire and 100 hp shot.......

I'd go at least 230-235 @ .050 duration and a wide lobe center (LSA, for the N2O).

My goal is mid to low 12s with the 100 shot.

I would go with either the voodoo or the xe275hl.For motor only I would go with the rpm intake. With the giggle juice I like a single plane but at that level either will be fine.
For street driving it will be much more responsive down low/at part throttle with the rpm intake.

I could be wrong, but I don't think you're gonna be anywhere near 400 hp. It takes a pretty serious street mill to go over 1 hp. Per cube. 9:1 compression, Stock casting heads and smallish hydraulic FT cams usually don't get you there. A 100-shot in a 360 might get you as much as a full second, but with street friendly 3.55 gears, I think that still leaves you in the high-12, low-13 second range.

Hope I'm wrong, but if you want to see low 12's, I think you need more compression, deeper gearing, and I'd perhaps look at a solid lifter cam.

I hope it will be faster than that! My old 2.3 turbocoupe ran 13.2 at 102, and 12.01 at 112 with a 75 shot. I will be pretty dissapointed if I cant get close to that. Anyways they are getting pretty good power out of this 360 https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/show...e=3#Post6526468
