Today my college age daughter was driving home for spring break on I70 thru MO. Vehicle is a 2004 Grand Cherokee V8 with almost 100k on it. After about 90 minutes of driving on the interstate, the thing just died. No warning, no stumbling.. just quit. After about 30 minutes, it refired and she drove it another 45 minutes or so.... it did it again. She nursed the jeep to Columbia MO to the Jeep dealer there. They ran a diagnostics on it and it came up clean........ no codes. She got a hotel for the night and the dealer will take it for a drive in the morning to see if they can replicate the problem. Without it throwning any codes, where should the dealer be looking? and thanks!

I've had a crank or cam position sensor do the exact same thing to me twice. Wife was driving down the road and car just died. An hour later I showed up and it fired right up and she drove it home. In a week it did that 2-3 time when the first sensor was going. Finally it died for good and I replaced the sensor. Dave

Not always.. I've seen a few bad ones on Fords with no code, I suspect Chrysler & GM will do the same.....

2.2 s-10's and anything with a Quad4 will do it without codes...and some 3800 v6's

Crank Sensor, or Fuel pump,....maybe a clogged converter at worst, but my money is on checking the sensor or pump, as they can drop out intermittenly without showing a code, been there, done that
