I need to pick up a speedo pinion for my 74 904. I know which tooth count I need but as I am looking I see short shaft, long shaft etc. Can these be swapped shaft to shaft? Can I just find the gear and use what's in my trans now?

Thanks in advance!

Undecided on tire size yet, but it will be either 33 or 36. I may grab both sizes for now and sell the one I don't need. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks, I have that chart, but I'm not sure what size tire I'm going to run yet. If I go with a 28" tire then I need new wheels. Right now I'm running a 14" Rallye wheel and the biggest tire I can find for it is a 25.6 tall tire. Sooo it's probably the 36 gear for now. Thanks a bunch, off to ebag.
