b54406barrel,
What's with the Goodyear "SPEEDWAY" white streak in the trunk of a '70 Road Runner?
I remember you said the car had WW F70-14s new, but not "SPEEDWAY"s, correct?

I've used this as a regular car for a lot of years but, I don't remember switching the tire on the spare. I used the spare 1/2 dozen times over the years & at one time there were Michelin narrow white wall radials on the car ('72?) but I'm pretty sure the spare was always that tire. I'd be more sure if I could remember what I had for dinner last night
Did they not make that tire in the late 60's, early 70's? It would hardly be the strangest thing about the car since it has other anomalies, possibly due to being built on 7/24/70.

I noticed that too and agree with Dan on it. That is really a 1968 tire.

So, a '68 tire couldn't have ended up in a '70?

FWIW, cruising on google, it appears they made speedway tires from '68 through '72. If there's some kind of code on the tire that says when it was made I'll look if it's important enough to someone. Not to me but, someone. Heck I've had so many cars, for so many years, I could have switched it & not remembered. Just can't see why I'd have done it.

OK, here's the numbers I found. When was it made?
