Hey guys- anyone ever put a magnum into a floating power mount style c body? We are thinking 5.9 magnum in a 63 newport-

(mods-before you move this- pretty sure 60-61 had the same mount?- and it seemed like a street rod type question-lol)

We can't find anyone who makes a swap mount (schumacher etc.) Any ideas, fab tips, anyone already done it?

Also- how to make the pushbutton work with the 518 od without breaking the bank! (checked into Imperial sevices-too steep for our blood!) Thanks in advance guys!

i know the deal you speak about with the conversion. that is why i am aquiring as many junk pushbutton shifters as i can, because i want to figure out how this can be accomplished and share the info here. then it may become "affordable" to anyone.

We are going to tackle it this weekend- we are convinced there is a cheaper way to do it than the Imperial Services route.. as for the mounter mounts- the ears on the factory 361 mounts lined up perfect with the magnum "old school" ears on the block, and it's gonna bolt right in..... who knew....

Ok- so I spoke outta line- although the ears looked like at first glance that they would line up- they didn't. So now the hunt for a set of poly 318 "floating power mounts" is on....

Good luck, the 63 Newport only came with big blocks. I doubt you will easily find an OEM mount that'll work. Might be easier to make your own here.

They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

Excuse me- 150 each plus shipping......so something came with a 318 with floating power mounts- Weve already figured it out though... this is a driver/ratrod vibe kind of deal- not going to/don't have to spend that kinda money for motor mounts! Now we have to figure out out to make the pushbutton work with the 518 without spending 600 bux!! I'm glad Imperial services has this stuff, but the prices are more hemi cuda than C body!!!!
