In looking through several websites and some ads, I find pricing out replacement sheet metal to be a pain in the butt. In another post, a well known guy said the average car required like $8000. in sheet metal. Is that correct? I want to do some homework and find out what the car really requires before going out and getting any type of estimates from the professionals. Anybody got experience with pricing out sheetmetal.

Yea I've bought alot here lately. Go to Goodmark or AMD website and write down all the part numbers that you want. Then call around to all the local body shops and see if they can get the part numbers for you. I faxed out my numbers to four local shops and they all sent them back with prices.I did this without even leaving my desk here at work. I wound up buying from a local shop that had my sheet metal shipped with a reg order, didn't cost me any shipping cost, took him about a week to get my stuff. I got all of it at 10% under retail is what it worked out to be. This way I could go to his shop and pick it up and check for any damage before I accept them. Better than dealing with a shipping company if there is any damage. The body shop unpacked all the sheet metal so when I got there it was all sitting out for my inspection. It was all in great shape. This is only half of what I bought, rear only.

Do you have local buddy who works for a dealership, or gets a courtesy discount from the parts counter of the Dodge dealer?

You may be able to get some of them that way, and have them shipped to the dealership. That's what I'm doing when its time to get my rear 1/4's

Hey, Gary. by looking at your pics, it got me thinking how much I should budget for vise grips. lol. I had never thought of asking a body shop. Just something that hadn't crossed my mind before.
