So, I sneaked on here with my hubby's password. He needs help.....translation......I need help. We have a 72 RR with a air grabber hood. The motor is a 440. What kind of manifold will work with a square bore Holley or Edelbrock carb? Having trouble finding a "low" height manifold that agrees with the air grabber hood.
Any ideas
Thanks
Janet

I am quite sure that you can use the Holley street Dominator intake or the Edelbrock CH4B intake.

The SD for sure (not famil w the CH4B). Get the flat metal plate (only several $$) to adapt the square bore carb to the spreadbore SD intake

I have a stock cast iron 4bbl intake from a 72 Police 440 that had a Holley on it from the factory. You can have it if you want to pay shipping.

The car has a 440 and an AIR GRABBER hood , which means it has DUCT WORK under the hood , anything other than a stock height intake can potentially hit the duckwork and BREAK IT. the CH4B is the ONLY manifold that MAY work on this car. .... but I know it will not work on a 68/69 car without the air cleaner hitting the hood, so anything other than a stock height manifold requires a DROP BASE air cleaner assembly. The choices are an Edlebrock performer , NOT THE RPM , or the ORIGINAL MP dual plane , the current MP dual plane is a rebadged RPM .

The mopar dual plane is just a copy of the stock iron intake in aluminum, so all of the factory stuff will work. The CH4B will probably work but can't say for sure, maybe 80% sure.

CH4B would be a good choice. It's taller than the stock intake, but only slightly.
