Busted sway bar tab- fixable? #92118

Not only is the tab broken, but the eyelet/grommet is missing. Factory E-body sway bar.

Can this be welded strong enough? And are the eyelets (5/8 in) available? This is for a driver, not a show car..

Appreciate your opinions.

Get a grade 8 washer the same size as the opening and have it fit and welded in. It will be plenty strong enough. Just check your other front end components to make sure they are not bad causing this problem.

you could cut a tab off another control arm or even fab up the needed sections from scratch then have someone weld it up.

That being said .. If you don't have the tools and have to pay a welder it would most likely cheaper to replace the arm.
