I don't even think the one in photo above is correct for a '69 A12, the lead connector should be on the windshield side (rear) of the solenoid? IIRC.

steve, i don't think he is anymore. there is one on ebay now, just like the one in the pic,but as stated the wire connects in the wrong place. i think fredricks chrysler sells them on ebay for about 150 bucks.you might be able to cut a notch in the correct place on the housing, and just spin the guts around so the wire connects in the right place.

Thats an easy fix as long as you're careful taking it apart. If you break the wire it a little harder.

My bad, I am actually needing it for my 70 6 pack Challenger and thought they would be the same as my A12 car. So no one makes them??

If you have one in need of restoration, Jules (dawiperman) is the guy to go to.

His crafstmanship is second to none and he may be able to change the 'clocking' of the wiring lug for you.

The '70 solenoid carb contact "pad" is round not hex as on the A12........

two examples of correct "looking" idle solenoids for '70/'71 on left round pad and '69 on right with the hex shaped pad......

You need a hex-head (as pictured) solenoid stamped DR 1114420 for the A12.

GOOD LUCK!

Because you are going to need it to obtain a real one!

That is a DR 1114429 (correct for 1970 440+6/70-71 Hemi and 71 340), that somehow was assembled with a hex head plunger. Normally the 429 has the round head plunger. Highly unusual! The 1114420 (hex-head) is for 69, and the 1114443 (hex-head with cap) is correct for 440+6 in 71.

Nobody makes CORRECT new ones. There are new replacements floating around that aren't accurate as far as the DR# stamping, etc.

Not to mention they don't seem to work very well either.
