What about this? My daughter's '87 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z Would take a few hours work, but guess it would be worth it. Saw a Chrysler Strattus once, with the 440 MOPAR engine. Approx. the same ammount of work I guess.

Not sure that is an 87, I owned an 86 that had the same head lights, I believe the 87's have hidden head lights.

We saw a mini van at Indy for the Mopar nats years ago that had a nasty 440 in it. It was like listening to a ventrilaquist, you knew where the sound was coming from ,but it just didn't seem right. I asked the guy why and he just replied-------- why not?

As for the few hours work: Could you possibely understand a joke? And for the modelyear: I just wrote what is in my Norwegian DMV's registrationpapers. If anybody can tell me for sure it's an '86, I'd sure appreciate that.

From my point of view the above wasn't the most important here. The car was simply my input in this thread as an idea of what to go to work on to have something special. Or in other words, my humble answere to the question asked.

And by the way, The Strattus is also a FWD.

On the Daytona, in the VIN a 86 is a G and a 87 is a H. I think it is the 10th digit.

I suppose that would qualify once all the metric bolts were removed.

Hey, I have a Dodge Stealth. And I have a left over 318. I'm going to need a rear end to get rid of that FWD. Maybe I should try building up my 318 or just buy a 440 and drag race with it!!!

Buy a nice & clean 6 cyl. '69 Camaro, put that 440/883 drivetrain in it and really tick off the Cheby guys! It's a very cool body style and a pony car to boot!

Didn't Sox & Martin already do that?

They didn't have a Cricket but they had a '79 Challenger. It used to run at Gainesville in the '80s and early '90s. It met it's end about 7-8 years ago street racing in the Ocala National Forrest area.

How about a 440 in a '81-'92 Camaro. Plenty around to pick and with a good supply new and used parts. Besides, it would be throwing it back in the faces of Chevy lovers, just your style.
