I have to rebuild my 440, don't know yet if it's stock or already bored. block is dated 1970

would you suggest to buy a balanced stroker rotating assembly or just a rebuild kit?

use is pretty street, probably a couple of drags per year, but I don't wanna to be upset if I have to drive 200 miles to a meeting.

Summit has some stroker kits, 494, 505 and so on.

Which one would you recommend if you recommend any?

thanks

There is certainly nothing wrong at all with stock (or slightly better than stock) since it's a very stout engine to begin with.

That being said, stroking adds a level of "cool" to make you stand out in the crowd (as if a Coronet in Italy doesn't stand out already! ).

There is something about an obnoxious lopey cam through a LOUD exhaust that strikes fear and awe into anyone within 100 meters!

I guess it depends on how shotyour parts are. If you have to turn the crank, get new rods, bore it and so on why not stroke it?? The parts are the same price.

hehe I know what you mean.

a buddy of mine had an extreme cam on a 383 and it wasn't street drivable.. so I don't wanna end up that situation.

Of course: once opened if the crank needs to be replaced.. I'll go stroker :-)
