Something just got my attention on this thread , from what i can gather the OP likes the 509 due to the reliability & not having to bother messing with lash settings................well , i ran a 605" 68 charger on the street with a solid roller 288/294 , this motor was driven to the track , put through it's paces & driven the 130 miles back home , made over 10k street miles & probably still going strong (sold it) , had bundles of fun with this car on the street & not much would touch it when it hooked , just saying you don't need to run hyd cams for reliability............couple guys on this thread have asked why the OP does'nt like the cam he is running , the answer was he does'nt like the noise , correctly set up there should'nt be any 'noise' , just trying to help the OP out that's all.

No one is trying to keep anyone from makeing up there own mind, only trying to provide information so people can make a more informed decision they will be happier with, peolpe like you are the ones keeping others in the stone age, if they want to be in the stone age that is fine as long as they know there is better stuff out there. I think a lot of people just like the mopar cams because they say mopar on the box, now if mopar started reboxing comp XE HL cams or Hughes engines cams then those same people who swear by the .509 .484 .557 cams would overnight take a likeing to the "new" mopar cams, they would hail them as great mopar developments, even icons just because it says mopar on the box, exactly like how the SCAT cranks bring so much more when they are in a mopar box instead of a SCAT box. Just because you chose a mopar boxed cam does not make your engine any stronger than an equal engine with a different cam, probably the opposite is true, if every one jumps on and says the mopar cam is the best cam ever and no one tells him the truth no matter how much he may get  for saying it, then we are not provideing him a usefull service and moparts should just shut down.
I am not causing global warming, I am just trying to hold off a impending Ice Age!

I REALLY DO WANT TO THANK ALL YOU FOR THE COMMENTS AND INFO ON OTHER CAMS THAT HAVE WORKED GOOD FOR YOU AND FRIENDS. TO ANSWER YOU ALL MY SOLID LIFT CAM IS A COMP CAM DURATION @ .020 IS INTAKE 284 EXHAUST 292 DURATION @ .050 INTAKE 254 EXHAUST 262 LIFT INTAKE IS 540 EXHAUST IS 559 AND I AM RUNNING INDY ROLLER ROCKER ARMS 1.6

Hey wedgehead its ok man relax you don't need to get so worked up let it go just do what you want and don't start getting all crazy people are just trying to help with advice.
