Thanks for the pics chuckaboon , I have never driven a Hemi car so you can probably imagine how excited I am to get my Hemi together & in my car.

You are very welcome NZ Man, best wishes on your project. I only drove the "Blue Angel II' twice, ...on and off my alignment rack! It's funny to think now, but back then, we didn't think anything of it, like Hemi cars will be made from now on till forever.
I've done a lot of thinking about this car lately, and if you like I'll write down some of the stories about this car. Like the time it nearly ended up in a canal with me underneath!

Regards

There sure are some great cars in this thread, very inspiring

Since I changed direction from SS/DA to Pro Stock I decided that I "needed" a magnesium Dana 60 so I bought one & it is on it's way as we speak.

This is such a great thread. Here's a shot I took of an SS/FA at the NHRA U.S. Nationals sometime in the late '80s or early '90s.

Took this at the 2011 Winternationals. Mike was runner-up with this car at the 2013 Winternationals, currently running in SS/JA with a 383.

Nice cars

I live on the wrong side of the world to see these cars for real but I have booked tickets to the Mellow Yellow nationals at New England & the NHRA nationals at Norwalk, so hopefully I will see some real cool race cars at these events.

Those are good choices to see some doorslammer action. We raced at Norwalk a good bit when I lived in Ohio - nice track. Lot of dragsters, altereds, and funny cars here on the west coast where I live now, but the Midwest is where the door car action is best. The U.S. Nationals at Indy is a great door car race too if you ever get a chance to go to that. Here is one I took of the Andy Boltz/Baughman's 'Cuda at the 1989 U.S. Nationals.

That is the same car with different paint job, Tom Fisher bought the car from Trippi Kling Performance in the 70's and then sold to Hemi Dave, then was sold to Darwin Oliver who passed away. I believe the car was then sold by his dad. Thanks / Gary

Truppi-Kling Performance? They were diehard Chevy guys! That's akin to buying a 427 Camaro from Sox & Martin!

What's the story?

Pete

Here is a photo of Don Grotheer's last Pro Stock car. I know it isn't a Mopar but NHRA had factored the Hemi out of the class.

More like Chrysler cut off Don's sponsorship. What to do? Go out and buy a car that was competitive unlike the Hemi Mopars and punitive weight that NHRA imposed on them. And just for fun (or spite) Don had a big Mopar logo on the rear windshield of his Pinto.

Wondering if anyone has additional info on the Boitnoit Bros cuda in the 3rd pic from Qwik426 posted on 12/14/2005. The one with the blue roof. Think I may have this car.
