That's just CRAZY to find a car like that!!!!!!!! VERY, VERY NICE!!!! Great story too!!!

I'm the CARETAKER of Weinstats '69 440 'cuda registry and have 104 of the 360 cars to date. 84 fastbacks/20 coupes. Always looking for new(REAL M-code) '69 440 'cudas to add to the registry so drop me a note if any are found or known. This isn't a publicly released registry. Thanks, Dave

Wow. That's a lucky find. Beautiful car.

Isn't there a solution or method to pull off a top layer of paint? Not sure if it's a solvent or what it is but I have heard of it being done. Be great if you could get that white paint off without painting over it. I guess it depends on what kind of paint was applied?

I love 64s.

i bought my survivor 69 RR some 7 years ago.
right front fender was replaced and painted and also the hood ( why?? ) it just took me sandpaper ( wet, 2000 ) and about 30 hours to wetsand, polish etc. to get the original paint from underthere. And it looked good when i was done.

Hope this helps!
cheers, Marcel

Hi Guys, Thanks for all the good comments. Sorry i could not post any more pics intil today. My Mother has been in the Hospital the last two weeks. I just brought her home. The car is now running. Went thru the carbs. No leaks. Great 80 lbs of oil pressure. The motor sounds wicked and nasty. Played with the timing some. It is Very crisp and responsive. You can tell it is an old Super Stock cam and profile. Very pleased with it. It was rebuilt and fired years ago on a dyno but never was finished enough to fire it when they did drop it in the eng. comp. here are some pics after running it.
Merry Xmas to all,

Dean

Monday the car is getting rubbed out and it is going to be fine. Did a little just messing around and it came out good. Bled all the brake lines. Trans seems real good. Might take it out for a spin late Monday or Tuesday.would have loved to drive it when it had the Hilborn Set up.

Wow,

Everything we go through to store our cars and this thing just sits in a dusty shop and it's unreal how nice it is. The bolt heads aren't even rusty. Nice job cleaning her up. Enjoy it.

Thanks guys. The car was wet sanded with 1500. Wheeled with rubbing compound. A finish glaze with the wheel. A hand polished and then a good cornuba waxing. The car looks awesome. The Dark Blue Metallic just came to life. Engine is dialed in and runs awesome. It blistered the hides off the old slicks all the way down the complex even shifting into second. It has a 3500 stall converter. It Stalls real nice. Fresh 115 octane racing gas was added. It has great oil pressure and idles at 1200. Very Pleased it turned out great.

Tracked down and talked to the original owner Yesterday. He was a very cool guy. He is coming to see it today. He was very pleased to find out the car was not destroyed or tubbed or parted out and is in great condition. His father owned a big Trucking co. and they were big Mopar Drag Racers. They owned a 3 or 4 lightweight Mopar Drag cars. All purchased from Town & Country C.P. In Phoenix. The first one was a 63 Plymouth Savoy Max Wedge Super Stock. Then this 64' and a 65 A 990. This one he liked the best and kept the longest. With the Hilborn Inlection and straight axel Three wheels came off the ground. Just the left rear stood planted. The car would hook to the right and some savy steering it flew down Beeline Raceway. He said it was the most adrenaline rush driving car they ever had. He is going to look for some old pics. He said he had a lot of 8mm films of it back then but they all dried up and crumbled years ago. Thats a shame.
