Don't rely on the casting #'s, they are not specific to any one engine.

The id pad on the top drivers front is the best way to spot either.

1964 Street Wedge engine will be stamped V 42 HP and a date below it somewhere. These engines were ALWAYS painted Turquoise. This engine had chrome valve covers and air cleaners with no snorkels and a tach drive distributor with no cable, just a cap over it. All were single 4 barrel intakes with a small 625 Carter carb and log style exhaust manifolds.

1965 426 Street Wedge would be stamped A 426 HP and then a date code below, same color engine. Both years carried regular 516 small valve wedge heads with heat cross over passages, nothing special.

Max Wedges were all painted Race Hemi Orange and had different font size stampings and characters. They varied based on which compression they came with. Here's a pic of an original Max Wedge pad for a comparison.

Here's a (poor quality) Street Wedge pad, notice the smaller font. To the right of the V there would have been a 42 (no "6") but it appears that someone either accidently or purposely beat on the pad which obscured it

Before I start a riot on this....
Max Wedges came in 2 varieties...413 and 426.

The naysayer's...do some more homework.

64 Max Wedge

....And yes, "Stage I" 413 (1962 Max Wedge) and 426 (1963, "Stage II" & 64 "Stage III" Max Wedge).

Other than bore size there were'nt many differences between them, mostly subtle changes. 64's had 518 heads, 62 & 63's had 286 heads, 64's used 3705 carbs, 62 & (most) 63's used 3447 carbs. Late 63 & 64 cross ram designs flowed slightly better but looked basically the same as earlier versions (pic above is a 64 stage III).

The 426 street wedge (365 hp) is stamped HP ,
and the Max wedge is stamped MP (maximum performance)
